Vanessa Montfort

　　

Novelist, playwright and journalist. In 1999, she graduates in Journalism with a major in screenplay, and during her university years she also starts her literary career. She has written 4 novels and more than a dozen theatrical texts. Her work —theatrical and narrative— has been included in numerous anthologies and reading lists in Spain and also in universities in the United States, Sweden, the Czech Republic, France, Mexico, Colombia, etc.

She has won Fundación Autor/SGAE award. Laboratorio de Dramaturgia of the Fundación Autor (2012), Premio Internacional de Novela Ateneo Joven de Sevilla (2010,2006), Premio Nacional Cultura Viva award for Breakthrough author of the year, as “one of the strongest emerging talents of the new Spanish literature”, British Council Grant for the Spanish-British playwrights meeting “Spanish Voices”, organized by the Royal Court Theatre at the John Osborn Foundation(2008). She has earned include The Order of the Discoverers from the St. John’s University of New York, “for her constant spreading of the Spanish culture and language” and British Council Grant for the International Playwrights Residence of the Royal Court Theatre of London(2007).
